This is a time-critical tertiary emergency for which we provide 24/7 care across a wide geographical area. The staffing model varies across the 24h period and across the week, as follows:

Monday-Friday 0800-1730: IR room 4 Anaesthetist

Monday-Friday 1730-0800: on-call team

Saturday-Sunday & Bank Holidays 0800-1730: dedicated on-call Consultant

Saturday-Sunday & Bank Holidays 1730-0800: on-call team

Suggested call-in process

Direct presentations to NBT

Stroke Team (ANP or Registrar) to put out Stroke Thrombectomy Call once decision made to proceed to Thrombectomy.

Secondary transfers

Once referral accepted Stroke ANP or Neuroradiologist to contact Bleep 9030 to inform them of the case.

5 minutes prior to arrival Stroke Team (ANP or Registrar) to put out Stroke Thrombectomy Call to inform team of patient arrival.
